Funeral Services

Nowadays more and more people are choosing to have a non-religious or semi-religious funeral, partly because there is more choice and flexibility in the content of the service. Funeral services led by a celebrant reflect the wishes, beliefs and values of the deceased and their family rather than those of the person conducting the funeral, and may have no religious content at all, or may include hymns and prayers. Either is fine by me, and with my suggestions and help, I will write and deliver a funeral service that YOU AGREE is perfect for the deceased and perfect for you.

How does this happen?

When you contact me we will agree a mutually convenient time for me to meet with you and other people that you may want to join us to chat about the service. If you, relatives or close friends do not live locally, we can have the same conversations by ‘phone and/or email. Either way, we will discuss all the things I need to know to write a fitting, life-centred funeral celebration for the person you have lost, including appropriate music, poems/readings, hymns etc. Family or friends may wish to make a contribution at the service for example by singing a song or reading a poem.

There are no boundaries within my funeral services, any wishes (within practical reason) will be fulfilled. At the end of the service I will provide you with a full copy of the service in a bound folder for your safekeeping.

Please feel free to contact me, with no obligation, to discuss your specific wishes for the funeral that you are arranging. Alternatively, you may want to give my contact details to your Funeral Director.

I am happy to travel without charge within a 20 mile radius of my home in Bromsgrove to locations in Worcestershire, Warwickshire and the West Midlands. If you live further afield, that need not be an obstacle. Any travel expenses will be purely nominal.

"Elaine,

I just wanted to say a big thank you for today. You held the ceremony together so well and it all went just as I and the children wanted it to. Many people commented on your eulogies and some thought you must be a family member as you talked of Manuel as if you had known him personally.  was terribly upset today, Manolo was the love of my life but I am so grateful you led the service in his memory and did justice to the impact he had on many lives. Thank you."

Jackie Morón-Pachon, Bromsgrove, Worcs

"I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful service you did for mum. You handled her dementia very sympathetically and brought her to life as the vibrant active person she was before this time. Feel you gave her the send-off she warranted. The quality of your service and the way you presented it was first class. Anyone using your services will be in safe hands; I would wholeheartedly recommend you."

Kay Crutchley, Barnt Green, Worcs.

"Thank you for your email Elaine. I have shown Alex and my mom too, and thank you for everything you have done for us and my dad. We have met some lovely people in the worst of circumstances who have made things slightly easier for us all. Your service was brilliant as you said “spot on” in relation to his character and in portraying exactly who he was and what he was about, without even knowing him. I do hope you love your job and will continue in your chosen career path as I feel you have really found your way to make a mark on so many peoples lives and in their death too. Once again Elaine, thank you from me, my mom, my sister and my dad. You exceeded all of our expectations."
