Civil Funerals
Civil Funerals
Nowadays more and more people are choosing to have a civil funeral rather than a religious funeral, partly because there is more choice and flexibility in the content of the service. A civil funeral reflects the wishes, beliefs and values of the deceased and their family rather than those of the person conducting the funeral, and may have no religious content at all, or may include hymns and prayers. Either is fine by me, and with my suggestions and help, I will write and deliver a funeral service that YOU AGREE is perfect for the deceased and perfect for you.
How does this happen?
When you contact me we will agree a mutually convenient time for me to meet with you and other people that you may want to join us to chat about the service. If you, relatives or close friends do not live locally, we can have the same conversations by ‘phone and/or email. Either way, we will discuss all the things I need to know to write a fitting, life-centred funeral celebration for the person you have lost, including appropriate music, poems/readings, hymns etc. Family or friends may wish to make a contribution at the service for example by singing a song or reading a poem.
There are no boundaries within civil funeral services, any wishes (within practical reason) will be fulfilled. At the end of the service I will provide you with a full copy of the service in a bound folder for your safekeeping.
Please feel free to contact me, with no obligation, to discuss your specific wishes for the funeral that you are arranging. Alternatively, you may want to give my contact details to your Funeral Director.
I am happy to travel without charge within a 20 mile radius of my home in Bromsgrove to locations in Worcestershire, Warwickshire and the West Midlands. If you live further afield, that need not be an obstacle. Any travel expenses will be purely nominal.
Please get in touch to discuss an arrangement.
